Bill’s Opening Notes

I’ve started this because although the little book is wonderful, there are things we may want to keep track of in a way we can get to year round and there are things we all may need to know before we get up there. Like:

  • Beach towels are running low, good beach towels non-existent. May want to bring your favorites. Alice reports that beach towels are hard to buy at the end of the season.

In other news:

  • Huge basswood tree fell down on lot across from Buzz. Missed house. Rot and bugs brought it down.
  • Treated septic tank, but flushing is still slow. May need a copper sulphate treatment for roots in drainage field.
  • Sandy next door has wireless that she will share, but she turns it off capriciously. A fiber optic line was run to the junction box by her house, so we should get fab bandwidth if anyone wants to hardwire it in.
  • Verizon is very sporadic this year down here. Not bad at Al’s.
  • Ordered more firewood. It never showed up.
  • I found some chairs I bought for the place being held against their will in the cabana, so I will take them home.
  • I bought a somewhat portable, medium sized gas grill and don’t know whether to leave it up here for folks to use. Opinions?
  • Leslie (of the Juterbocks) is up for July, renting the place from Steve, who now owns it. He is eager to rent it out.
  • Alice is interested in getting a bush/evergreen buffer at the parking lot fenceline and I approve wholeheartedly. Too bad Dad didn’t extend the spruce buffer with the Fisks.

If i get bored, I may keyboard in here the standing instructions for closing up, for charging the pump buffer, . . .
